AFAIK the goal of GNOME 3 was to make it's usage more intuitive. Matthias, let me ask you a question: Do you really think that people will find this configuration option? Do you think this is intuitive? If you type 'default' or 'application' into the search entry, the right thing comes up. My opinion is not very relevant here. Your difference of opinion is noted, but keeping this bug open is not going to have much of any effect.
