Description Christoph Wickert 2011-03-27 10:42:14 UTC
Description of problem:
The entry 'System Info' contains settings for default applications and fallback mode. Something that is called *info* should not contain settings but only display information. With the term 'System Info' it is very hard to finde these settings. Either move them somewhere else (I think preferred apps is worth a menu entry of it's own) or rename the entry in the control center.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

AFAIK the goal of GNOME 3 was to make it's usage more intuitive. Matthias, let me ask you a question: Do you really think that people will find this configuration option? Do you think this is intuitive?

If you type 'default' or 'application' into the search entry, the right thing comes up.

My opinion is not very relevant here. Your difference of opinion is noted, but keeping this bug open is not going to have much of any effect.

"System Info" comes up, not "Default Applications". Still not intuitive.

However I think there is not much use discussion this here, so I filed a bug upstream at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647442
