Not really random actually, happens only with some invalid(?) themes. Using Ubuntu Ambience by half-left (http://gnome-shell.deviantart.com/gallery/28081982) for few days now and 'bug' is gone. @Rene: I'm using the GNOME Shell default theme. On my side the artefacts come and go during the same session. It is not systematic. I even think it sometimes doesn't even happen. I haven't tried changing theme though. Can it confirm exactly for Thinkpad T60 RV515 (Radeon X1300) Gnome-Sehll default theme Bug #707696 seems to be a duplicate. Artefacts are gone really! This is the first time that I can use gnome-shell for serious work... May be this is some side effect. Contains the default theme really the 'bug'? Anyway, all these random black pixels on the close button are gone. The black background someone is gone too... Now we to found out what's really is going on. Also seen on Thinkpad T60p with ATI Technologies Inc M56GL [Mobility FireGL V5200] xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.1-2.20110525gitfe5c42f51.fc15.i686 Happens sporadically but usually seen within a few hours. Still present in F16 Still present in F17.
For me it's also on RV515 and it has all the same symptoms.

* Window corners missing or black
And it is not a problem all the time. I can run the computer for weeks without artifacts and then suddenly they start to show up. I have the computer turned on 24/7 with 30-50 windows open most of the time.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. Since it is random one just need to wait long enough Actual results: See attached screenshot for problem 1 & 2. Will upload more when other symptoms appear Expected results: no artefacts.
