Description Patrik Martinsson 2011-03-31 15:02:10 UTC
Description of problem:
When you set an "own-defined default"-background through gconf by the local-defaults.path - it doesn't seem to work correctly when unlocking screen, since it shows the "Red Hat-system-default", rather then the one we have chosen as "company-system-default".

Let me explain, here's how we set it up,

cat /etc/gconf/2/local-defaults.path
xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/company.gconf.xml.defaults

gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/company.gconf.xml.defaults --type string --set "/desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename" "/usr/share/backgrounds/company.xml"
gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/company.gconf.xml.defaults --type string --set "/desktop/gnome/background/picture_options" "stretched"
gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/companyi.gconf.xml.defaults --type string --set "/desktop/gnome/background/primary_color" "#000000"
gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/company.gconf.xml.defaults --type string --set "/desktop/gnome/background/secondary_color" "#000000"

Now we have our /usr/share/backgrounds/company.xml as the default background in gdm and on the desktop as expected, however when unlocking the screensaver its the "redhat-system-default" background that is shown and *not* the one I've just specified.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't our /usr/share/backgrounds/company.xml be the one showing up as background when the user is unlocking the screensaver ?

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit /etc/gconf/2/local-defaults.path and enter a path to an "company" gconf-xml.

2. Use gconftool2 to set the appropriate settings, in this case the background.

3. Log out to verify that gdm background is set accourdingly, log in to verify that the background still is set accourdingly, lock screen (ctrl+l) and move mouse to verify my story.

Actual results:
"Red Hat-system-default"-background is showing.

Expected results:
"Own-company-default"-background should be the one showing.
