Dan, should this be fixed by NetworkManager-0.8.997-8.git20110331.fc15? I am not seeing any change. Created attachment 489594 [details]
NetworkManager debug output
I've attached the output of running NetworkManager with debugging enabled. It looks like the agent cannot receive the secret for authentication. I have replaced username and IP address with **hidden**.
I'm also experiencing this issue. If you need debug information or time to troubleshoot I am available. Thanks! John It look's like this may have been patched according to the following. https://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-list/2011-March/msg00207.html Is there any way we can get the latest version of NetworkManager-pptp pushed to updates testing? Regards, John Thanks for digging up this patch - I can confirm that it works. I have rebuilt it here: http://bsjones.fedorapeople.org/NetworkManager-pptp-0.8.995a-1.fc15.x86_64.rpm DISCLAIMER: this is not endorsed by the maintainers - so use at your own risk. NetworkManager-pptp.x86_64 fixes this issue for me. |
Created attachment 489310 [details] xsession-errors Description of problem: I'm having trouble connecting to a Windows VPN using PPTP. According to syslog the authentication is failing. The connections editor seems unable to persist the password I enter in and PAP authentication fails. I am able to edit the connection settings from the network applet in GNOME 3, however upon re-editing the password is displayed as '(null)' rather than the password I entered. Deleting/re-adding the connection does not seem to help. I also tried leaving the password blank so that I would be prompted to enter credentials but this did not happen. I can not see any related passwords in seahorse either. I'm not sure where these settings live now, but dconf-editor is seg-faulting - I will link another bug here if required. Behaviour is the same in XFCE using nm-applet Also a new entry appears in the applet menu every time I edit the VPN connections. Fedora 15 - continuous upgrade from Alpha . I have attached syslog and .xsession-errors. 1:NetworkManager-pptp-0.8.995-1.fc15.x86_64 1:NetworkManager-0.8.997-6.git20110328.fc15.x86_64 NetworkManager-openconnect-0.8.1-7.git20110326.fc15.x86_64 1:NetworkManager-pptp-0.8.995-1.fc15.x86_64 1:NetworkManager-openvpn-0.8.995-1.fc15.x86_64
