Comment 1 Patrick Boutilier 2011-04-02 19:40:13 UTC
Confirmed. Same errors on Fedora 15 live CD. I can not even make a wireless connection.

Comment 2 Daniel Mach 2011-04-04 14:10:29 UTC
Same here.
Networking works, but logs are spammed with the error message.

Comment 3 Christoph Brill 2011-04-06 19:29:35 UTC
Same happens here with the F15 live CD. I think I could narrow it down on a second system (Gentoo) to an update of NetworkManager from 0.8.2 to 0.8.996.

Comment 4 Sitsofe Wheeler 2011-04-13 22:42:59 UTC
I'm seeing this too on a Fedora LiveCD from today with a 2.6.38-2 kernel. However, I don't see this on a LiveCD from March 25th (2.6.38-1) making me think that the issue has been introduced inbetween...

This bug has almost certainly been filed in the wrong component - it is most likely a kernel bug as the firmware hasn't changed in years (I checksummed the firmware files and they are the same as the firmware on my Fedora 14 system that does not show this problem).

My guess is that this has been introduced in the 2.6.38.2 kernel but looking at the git changelog this doesn't make sense!

Comment 5 Steven Stern 2011-04-13 23:01:07 UTC
I'm getting the same sort of errors with kernel 2.6.38.2-9.fc15.i686.PAE

Comment 6 Sitsofe Wheeler 2011-04-13 23:31:31 UTC
Might be related to Bug #683571 ...

Comment 7 Sitsofe Wheeler 2011-04-13 23:44:24 UTC
Also https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644551 (which is against NetworkManager)

Comment 8 Christoph Brill 2011-05-06 19:03:06 UTC
For me an update of networkmanager to 0.8.999 solved the problem.

Comment 9 Sitsofe Wheeler 2011-05-30 19:40:09 UTC
I am not seeing this problem in Fedora 15 final. This might be better marked a duplicate of bug 688252 .

Hi there
I got similar problem with Scientific Linux 6.1 (wireless connection is death, wired connection OK) please help.
I was using SL6.0 not too much ago with no problems at all, (testing before installing it to my HD) but since automatically updating to SL6.1 and restart I can't connect to internet.
Here some further info:

I tried some commands as followings:
#yum check-update iwl3945-firmware.arch; and yum -reinstall [firmware] with no changes at all.
I also tried to update NetworkManager Applet from 0.8.1 to 0.9 and 0.8.4 but installation abort with same output for both cases: "intool too old (...)" or something like that (sorry I didn't write down the exact output)
I would appreciate any clue...

Comment 11 Fedora End Of Life 2013-04-03 16:04:01 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle.
Changing version to '19'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)

More information and reason for this action is here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping/Fedora19

Comment 12 Fedora End Of Life 2015-01-09 16:37:46 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 19 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now this bug will
be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '19'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 19 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 13 Fedora End Of Life 2015-02-17 13:42:24 UTC
Fedora 19 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-01-06. Fedora 19 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
