Description Dag 2011-04-04 16:55:43 UTC
Description of problem:
This happens when Exaile is running and the GUI window has focus.

My setup : a python script is running in the background on the PC (Wiimote remote control script), that runs commands like "exaile -i 5" to increase volume in Exaile on specific events.

Story : So on my screen I have Exaile running and its window has focus.
I press the "+" button on my Wiimote that makes my script send the command "exaile -i 5".
Exaile reacts by increasing volume +5% AND hides the GUI window.
Then I press the same "+" button or the "-" one and Exaile reacts by increasing or decreasing volume by 5% AND shows the GUI window.

Conclusion : Exaile GUI when having focus, triggers a kind of hide/unhide event depending on the current "hidden state" of the window, each time a "exaile -i" or "exaile -l" is executed in the background.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
exaile-0.3.2.1-1.fc14.noarch

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. launch Exaile
2. GUI window has focus
3. a background script runs "exaile -l 5"
4. the window gets hidden and volume is lowered 5%
5. a background script runs "exaile -l 5"
6. the window reappears and volume gets lowered 5%

Actual results:
the command-line for controlling Exaile's volume hides or unhides the GUI window if it has focus.

Expected results:
The command-line should only increase or lower the volume, not hide/unhide the GUI window.

Additional info:
I only tested "play/pause", "volume up/down", "next track", "previous track" command-line parameters.

Regards

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 12:52:40 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
