this code: close(pipefd[0]); waitpid(child, &status, 0); should read the other way round, else mount can get signalled with a SIGPIPE. Also see: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558256#c62 There is a similar problem on the rawhide anaconda.
