Description Aleksandra Fedorova 2011-04-07 13:03:13 UTC
F15-LXDE image with all updates installed does not have icons for applications:

File Manager
IBus Input Method Framework
Lock Screen

Packages installed:
# rpm -qa | grep icon
      gnome-icon-theme-legacy-3.0.0-1.fc15.noarch
      gnome-icon-theme-3.0.0-1.fc15.noarch
      gnome-icon-theme-symbolic-3.0.0-1.fc15.noarch
      hicolor-icon-theme-0.12-2.fc15.noarch

If i choose Gnome icon theme manually in "Custom Look and Feel" menu, IBus got his icon, but file manager and lock screen button still missing

Installation of lxde-icon-theme doesn't change the result.

Can you tell me where the icons are missing? I fail to reproduce the problems. I have tested with lxde-icon-theme-0.4.2-3.fc15 and gnome-icon-theme-2.91.92-6.fc15 or gnome-icon-theme-3.0.0-1.fc15.

[chris@f15-lxde ~]$ grep Icon /usr/share/applications/lxde-lock-screen.desktop
Icon=system-lock-screen
[chris@f15-lxde ~]$ rpm -ql gnome-icon-theme | grep system-lock-screen
/usr/share/icons/gnome/16x16/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/22x22/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/24x24/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/256x256/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/32x32/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/actions/system-lock-screen.png
[chris@f15-lxde ~]$ rpm -ql lxde-icon-theme | grep system-lock-screen
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/128x128/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/16x16/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/22x22/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/24x24/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/32x32/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/36x36/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/48x48/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/64x64/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/72x72/actions/system-lock-screen.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/96x96/actions/system-lock-screen.png

The icon for "Lock screen" should definitely be in place no matter if you select gnome-icon-theme or lxde-icon-theme.

$ grep Icon /usr/share/applications/fedora-pcmanfm.desktop
Icon=system-file-manager

[chris@f15-lxde ~]$ rpm -ql gnome-icon-theme | grep system-file-manager
/usr/share/icons/gnome/16x16/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/22x22/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/24x24/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/256x256/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/32x32/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/apps/system-file-manager.png
[chris@f15-lxde ~]$ rpm -ql lxde-icon-theme | grep system-file-manager
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/128x128/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/16x16/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/22x22/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/24x24/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/32x32/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/36x36/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/48x48/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/64x64/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/72x72/apps/system-file-manager.png
/usr/share/icons/nuoveXT2/96x96/apps/system-file-manager.png

"File manager" is present, too.

Where is the entry for "IBus Input Method Framework"?

Ok, may be this is a false alarm and it is better to check it later, with fully equipped Live Beta image.

Just to clarify:
I took the Fedora LXDE Live Alpha and run it. Then i saw missing icons.

I installed Live to hard drive. And made full update. And rebooted.
Then i saw the picture you can see attached. Three icons still missing.

Then i played a little bit with themes, chose Gnome icon theme and applyed it - icons still missing.

Then i wrote the bugreport, and then rebooted one more time - and icons returned!

Yes, there were missing icons in the alpha, but in beta everything should be fixed.
