Description David Juran 2011-04-07 13:33:32 UTC
Description of problem:
When choosing to clone a VM from virt-manager, it always suggests that same name for the cloned disk image. So if one clones a VM twice, unless one checks under the "details" tab, those two clones will share the same image. Which is not necessarily what one might want...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
virt-manager-0.8.5-1.fc14

How reproducible:
every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. clone a VM twice
2. start both clones
3. watch them corrupt

Actual results:

Expected results:
I think it would be good if the suggested disk would default to something that doesn't already exist. Or at least pop up a warning that the disk will be shared...

Comment 1 Cole Robinson 2011-07-11 20:12:49 UTC
Hmm, I can't reproduce. I think was fixed by the latest virt-manager version in f14. Closing as WORKSFORME, but if you can still reproduce with the latest package, please provide:

virt-manager --debug (while doing the two clones)
virsh dumpxml $origvm
virsh dumpxml $clone1
virsh dumpxml $clone2

Indeed, works fine now. Thanks for the update.
