Description Susi Lehtola 2011-04-10 22:37:51 UTC
GSL can use ATLAS for BLAS operations, which usually results in speedups by an order of magnitude.

It seems that bug #560219 was actually caused by the GSL installation being designed in such a way that one can use a platform-specific CBLAS library instead of the bundled reference CBLAS implementation; see

http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl/manual/html_node/Linking-with-an-alternative-BLAS-library.html

I think it would be beneficial to link the GSL library against ATLAS; the necessary link flags for CBLAS functionality are "-L%{_libdir}/atlas -latlas"
