Description of problem:
If I use the ctrl-alt-d keyboard shortcut to show the desktop, nothing happens.

Every time

That's expected; we don't show files over the background in GNOME 3, so there's no reason to have a shortcut to hide all the windows.  File access goes through the Files app.  Thanks!

Colin, that's okay but someone on the GNOME project might want to update the cheat sheet as it still refers to this keybinding for the Shell. See here:
