Proposed as F15Blocker. It has always been our recommendation that you only have the correct ISOs in the directory you point anaconda to. I believe the test case and documentation should be updated to reflect that. Discussed at 2011-04-15 blocker review meeting. As this does not mean the install method in question is actually non-functional, rejected as a blocker. -- Fedora Bugzappers volunteer triage team https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers For F16 version of the guide, I've added an Important admonition after the first step in both the NFS and HD installation preparation procedures, explaining that the specified directory must only contain the ISO image file being used for this installation. The drafts can be found at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/Installation_Guide/ch-Preparing-x86.html#s1-steps-network-installs-x86 and http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/Installation_Guide/s1-steps-hd-installs-x86.html Cheers, Jack You can now specify the specific .iso file (bug 707846) in a directory. Thanks, Brian. So can you confirm that this renders the new admonition moot? Is the user now prompted to select the iso within the directory? I'll remove the admonition if so. No, if they want to use a specific .iso then the user needs to specify the full path and filename to the iso instead of just the directory containing it. If they don't specify the full path then the previous behavior of only 1 iso per directory is correct. Thanks Brian. Because the command example given in step 1 specifies that the ISO filename should be included, this new functionality now falls into line with it, so I'll remove the admonition to avoid confusion. Removing myself for these bug components as I'm either no longer involved in that aspect of the project, or no longer care to watch this particular bug. Sorry if you are caught in a maelstrom of bug changes as a result! |
