Print Screen of Missing Menu Bar on Top of Red Hat Linux Desktop

Description of problem:

I have updated the latest kernal release version via the software updater feature available on our Red Hat Linux 5.0 Server desktop top menu bar under applications. After the latest kernal release update is completed, the system prompt to restart the server.

After the server is restarted and logged in using my Administrator password, there is no menu bar on top of the desktop screen as shown by the MS Word attachment print screen.

There should be menu items to choose such as application, system, administration with sub-menus like software updater under application main menu. But what I see on the desktop screen now is just an empty white bar on the top and the bottom of the screen.

I restarted the server again but the results is still the same.

Regards.....
