Description Răzvan Sandu 2011-04-15 09:19:50 UTC
Description of problem:

Hello, probably it's not a bug and it's my fault of mixing repositories, but it worths bringing this to your attention.

On stock Fedora 14 x86_64, trying to do a:

debuginfo-install gdesklets

leads to this:

Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/src/debug/freetype-2.4.2/src/base/ftobjs.c from install of freetype-freeworld-debuginfo-2.4.2-5.fc14.x86_64 conflicts with file from package freetype-debuginfo-2.4.2-4.fc14.x86_64

Along with official Fedora repositories, I am using rpmfusion repositories (both free and nonfree flavours).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
freetype-debuginfo-2.4.2-4.fc14.x86_64
freetype-freeworld-debuginfo-2.4.2-5.fc14.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always, in described conditions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora 14 x86_64
2. Enable rpmfusion repos
3. Perform debuginfo-install gdesklets

Actual results:
Cannot install the necessary debuginfos to submit backtrace for gdesklets via automatic reporting.

Expected results:
Generating backtrace should work normally.

Additional info:
None.

That needs to be fixed in freetype-freeworld, not in Fedora's freetype.

There's already a bug filed in RPM Fusion:
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=556
I just didn't get around to fixing it yet.

Since you're only actually using one of the freetype libraries, it is sufficient to install one of the debuginfo packages, in this case probably freetype-freeworld-debuginfo. debuginfo-install is not smart enough to do that though, you'll have to install them manually (e.g. with yum --enablerepo=fedora-debuginfo --enablerepo=updates-debuginfo install).

Please CC yourself on the RPM Fusion bug for any followups.
