Description Remi Collet 2011-04-20 07:07:21 UTC
"httpd" + "php-zts" don't load php because php.conf is owned by "php" which is not required (and probably not wanted to)

Proposals:

1/ move php.conf, session and php.gif to php-common (required by both php and php-zts)

2/ merge php-zts with php

Comment 1 Joseph D. Wagner 2011-07-19 05:56:45 UTC
I am experiencing this problem too. To put another way, there is a missing dependency between php and php-zts -- php needs php-zts because php-zts is referenced in the /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf file. Otherwise httpd will refuse to start.

My exact error is:
Syntax error on line 221 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 9 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf: Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp5-zts.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp5-zts.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Unfortunately, I am not familiar enough with these packages to recommend a solution. I'll leave that in your capable hands.

Merging php-zts with php would make sense to me.

I will take care of merging php-zts with php for (just released) version 5.3.7 in fedora 16 and rawhide.
