This is usually the case when resuming while the power plug is not connected. Especially given that Gnome Shell defaults to Suspend instead of poweroff, this is a really annoying problem! It maybe fault of gnome-power-manager, upower or kernel. Please provide packages versions from the affected system, i.e. output of: $ rpm -q gnome-power-manager upower kernel This specific problem no longer occurs with Fedora 16. Thanks for info.
