Description Henry Rust 2011-04-21 13:07:48 UTC
Description of problem:
All games using openal-soft have jerky sound. I tested the Penumbra Collection as well Amnesia. The whole Penumbra Collection is only available in a 32 bit version, but the problem also occurs in Amnesia, which is 64 bit. I compiled the latest git-snapshot from openal-soft and tested it: same problem. The openal-soft version shipped with the Penumbra Collection has the same problems. It's definitely not Pulseaudio's fault, I temporarily deinstalled it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openal-soft 1.12.854, but also latest git and 1.8.466 (version shipped with Penumbra Collection)

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start one of the games
2. sound is jerky
3.

Actual results:
jerky sound

Expected results:
nice sound

Ok, it turns out my sound system was broken. I didn't realized that, because the jerky sound only appeared from time to time. Also I have just turned on my speakers for playing games. Sorry for inconvenience.
