Please attach the screenshot. I don't see any problems on gedit nor gucharmap say. Cannot reproduce it anymore. Still can figure out was caused it, but it doesn't happen anymore. *can't figure is it maybe a cache issue or something? anyway, I'll close this so far. please reopen if you see this issue again. thanks. I saw this issue immediately after I upgraded vlgothic-fonts from 20101218 to 20110414. firefox or thunderbird showed very strange Japanese strings. After relogin to GNOME session the issue disappeared. Actually often I see this issue when upgrading fonts, i.e. in some cases relogin is needed after upgrading fonts. This is a mozilla bug (both in firefox & thunderbird), it has nothing to do with a specific font, please report it upstream |
