Description Stephen Gallagher 2011-04-27 14:49:20 UTC
Description of problem:
I had quite a few search folders set up in evolution 3.0.0 for monitoring multiple folders for labels. After upgrading to 3.0.1, the search folders no longer appear in the folder list. Furthermore, attempting to create new search folders presents just a gray box and a cancel button.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evolution-3.0.1-1.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create several search folders in evolution 3.0.0
2. Yum update to evolution-3.0.1-1.fc15
3.

Actual results:
Search folders are gone and no new ones can be created

Expected results:
Search folders should remain available.

Downgrading to 3.0.0 did not restore access to search folders either. This is a serious productivity problem. I'm sure I'm not the only person who relies on search folders to keep track of email.

Thanks for a bug report. I repeated your steps, basically:
a) Run evolution, Help->About shows Evolution 3.0.0
b) Created one search folder; have a new ~/.config/evolution/mail/vfolders.xml
c) Close evolution and make sure all evolution processes are not running
d) yum update evolution
e) Run evolution, Help->About shows Evolution 3.0.1
f) The search folder from b) is there, same as the config file didn't change

I do not see how this could happen, but surely something with your ~/.config folder happened.

For reasons I cannot explain, this morning I turned on Evolution and my search folders had reappeared and were working again. I have not updated any packages on my system.

Hrm, pity. I'm closing this bug then, but please reopen it in case you'll face the issue again, we'll investigate further what is going wrong.
