ok it was a dconf problem how resolve it: install dcon-editor: - go to application -> cheese choose key video effect and press reset to default start cheese . it works! (In reply to comment #1) > ok it was a dconf problem > how resolve it: > install dcon-editor: > - go to application -> cheese > choose key video effect and press reset to default > > start cheese . it works! This likely has to do with using pre-release version of cheese then (from the alpha-s / beta-s), closing. I have exactly the same problem with cheese-3.0.1-2.fc15.x86_64, however... (In reply to comment #1) > how resolve it: > install dcon-editor: > - go to application -> cheese > choose key video effect and press reset to default I don't have that key. I tried to reset all the others, still I cannot apply any filter and see exactly the error message from comment 0. Resetting sets 'selected-effect' to 'identity' and the error message is still the same. I can manually set it to an empty value, still the error remains. Reopening. *** Bug 713895 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** According to the upstream bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647677 this should be fixed in cheese 3.0.2. Yes, I know that the bug summary is about the seg fault, but they've been linking all effects not working bugs to that one. So would it be possible to get a build of 3.0.2 for F15? I see it's been built for F16 and I'll try that later. cheese-3.0.2-1.fc15 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 15. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cheese-3.0.2-1.fc15 *** Bug 721091 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** That update fixes this bug. I can select different effects. There are a few that don't work, but that's a different issue than this one. Package cheese-3.0.2-1.fc15: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 15 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing cheese-3.0.2-1.fc15' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cheese-3.0.2-1.fc15 then log in and leave karma (feedback). *** Bug 699594 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 710738 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** cheese-3.0.2-2.fc15 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 15. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/cheese-3.0.2-2.fc15 cheese-3.0.2-2.fc15 has been pushed to the Fedora 15 stable repository.
