Description of problem:
Currently, using SUDO with rules managed centrally in LDAP requires the configuration of the /etc/nss_ldap.conf file. This configuration file is owned by another package that has nothing to do with SUDO at all.

First, SUDO does not use the glibc name-service-switch (NSS) interfaces, and thus it is confusing to end-users that they must configure an NSS configuration file.

Secondly, starting with Fedora 14, SSSD is the preferred mechanism for managing user identities in LDAP, and nss_ldap is not configured automatically, or even installed by default. As a result, this configuration file is not present.

SUDO should be updated to use its own configuration file for LDAP setup, rather than relying on a configuration file from a package that may not even be installed.

(For other reasons this is a bad idea, see BZ #652687, where a change to the underlying configuration style of the dependent package causes problems for sudo)

This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
