Description sds81 2011-05-05 17:26:09 UTC
Description of problem:
After installing Flash (non-free) and the google voice and video plugin video chat is not possible. Google reports an error in accessing graphics hardware when initiating a video chat.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Gnome 3 based fedora 15

How reproducible:
all the time without fail on a Thinkpad r61 with 1GB of RAM and

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Flash Plugin
2. Install google voice and video plugin after downloading from the google website.
3. Login to gmail
4. Start a video chat with any chat friend online and displaying the camera icon implying that a video chat is possible.

Actual results:
The integrated web camera's green light comes on for 1 second after which Google displays an error saying that " There was an error in accessing your graphics hardware."

Expected results:
Voice and Video chatting with people who matter.

Additional info:
1. happens only on Gnome 3 desktops both fedora and openSUSE.
2. Not browser dependent as the same Mozilla Firefox 4 and 4.0.1 do not face this problem on gnome 2.30 and 2.32.
3. High severity given as it interferes with telepathy framework initiated video chats as well which cause the system to hang.
4. Same versions of google voice and video plugin and flash work beautifully in Windows 7

We don't have the source code of those plugins, we can't fix this.
