Description George 2011-05-09 01:11:56 UTC
Description of problem:
Cannot extend.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
system-config-lvm-1.1.5-8.el5

How reproducible:
I tried a number of times always refused to extend.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add new physical volume
2. Add to volume group.
3. Try to extend existing logical volume.

Actual results:
FAILS

Expected results:
Should extend the existing volume to use newly added storage.

Additional info:
Works if yum downgrade to system-config-lvm-1.1.5-4.el5
This looks like an old bug that has resurfaced.

Thanks for yours report

My test case is:

1) run s-c-lvm
2) Unallocated -> select Add to existing VG
3) Attempt to extend an LV ends with 'Logical volume is not mounted but is in use'

This is because s-c-lvm does not correctly recognize that LV is already mounted. This bug was fixed by #672475.

If your problem differs, please feel free to reopen this bug with test case which can be reproduced.
