Could reproduce this bug on the following components of rh5.6: libvirt-0.8.2-15.el5 Steps: 1. create /etc/libvirt/hooks/daemon. # cat /etc/libvirt/hooks/daemon #! /bin/bash echo "$0" "$@" >> /tmp/daemon.log exit 1 2. # chmod +x /etc/libvirt/hooks/daemon 3. restart libvirtd # service libvirtd restart 4. check /tmp/daemon.log. Actual results: /etc/libvirt/hooks/daemon - start - start Not sure if we will backport the fix to rhel5.6, or even 5.7, as it the fix is more like a enhancement/feature, but not a problem fix. Anyway, I guess you are wasting time testing on rhel5.6 here, as this bug is against 5.7. This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 and Red Hat does not plan to fix this issue the currently developed update.
