Previously, the libgweather library did not contain information for the city of Jerusalem, making it impossible to search for the city or select the city from the list of cities offered by the weather panel applet. This update adds the missing information to the libgweather database, so that users can now select Jerusalem as a valid option.

Sorry, there is a small syntax error in "Actual results" "but the weather in Jerusalem is quite different then the Tel Aviv" should be read as "but the weather in Jerusalem is quite different then the *one in* Tel Aviv" This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an exception in the current release, please ask your support representative. Ray, is this something we can fix or it needs to be implemented upstream first? The weather station data actually lives in libgweather, not in gnome-applets. Moving this bug there. Created attachment 559159 [details]
proposed patch
Proposed patch.
After a bit of investigation, I found out the METAR weather station for Jerusalem (LLJR) is not available anymore, since the Atarot International Airport has been closed for some time. My proposed patch uses the nearby Ben Gurion International Airport station (LLBG), which is the same used for Tel Aviv though. The airport is geographically located near the highway between the two cities according to Wikipedia.
I think this is a reasonable compromise; having the location and some data is better than not having it at all.
