Description John (J5) Palmieri 2011-05-12 16:17:20 UTC
Description of problem:

When pinning firefox to the right or left of a monitor in dual head mode (half screen maximize), if I then click on an app on the other monitor and alt-tab back to firefox, it jumps to the other screen.

I'm not sure if this is a firefox or gnome-shell issue as it is similar to bug #598992 but only happens in firefox, and only when it is maximized to the right or left edge. Regular maximization works fine.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

gnome-shell-3.0.1-4.fc15.x86_64
firefox-4.0.1-2.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:

Happens most of the time when the steps are reproduced as bellow but sometimes it works correctly.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. attach an extra monitor to your computer and set it on the right or left of the main display
2. open up firefox and half screen maximize it on one of the displays
3. on the other display open up another application
4. click on firefox with the mouse and then do the same to the other app so that app is focused
5. alt-tab and select firefox

Actual results:

firefox will jump to the other screen

Expected results:

firefox stays in the same position it was maximized in

Additional info:

This does not happen when maximizing full screen
This only seems to happen in firefox

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 17:40:38 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
