Description David Le Sage 2011-05-12 23:09:48 UTC
Description of problem:
I am trying to open a file on my local hard drive. No matter what I do, whenever I click "Fetch" nothing happens. I have tried a few different syntaxes with relative and absolute filepaths and the file:// protocol.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
beacon-0.5-4.fc14.noarch

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to Beacon
2. Select a remote file to edit. Input various combinations in filename and URL input fields.

Actual results:
Nothing happens.

Expected results:
Document should be opened or some kind of error message informing me of incorrect syntax or file not found.

Okay, so I eventually saw on the launch page that "You can either fetch an existing document at a give URL or upload a file depending on the plugin." I presume the plugin isn't installed/ready yet to make this work.

This has been fixed to load files from the same host(domain). Still, the problem of jQuery/Ajax and Same domain origin policy remains to be fixed.

Comment 3 Satya Komaragiri 2011-08-27 05:09:16 UTC
Fixed in upstream.
