Description Joshua Wulf 2011-05-13 06:27:19 UTC
Search 1:
http://jboss-eap.bne.redhat.com:8080/TopicIndex/CustomSearchTopicList.seam?catext5=Or&tag13=1&tag74=1&cid=36

Returns 40

Search 2:
http://jboss-eap.bne.redhat.com:8080/TopicIndex/CustomSearchTopicList.seam?catext3=Or&catext5=Or&tag13=1&tag74=1&cid=35

Returns 2763 topics.

Search 1 is constructed by selecting IA_PROPOSED, set external logic on Topic Lifecycle block to "OR", select Technology: Migration from WebLogic Server.

Search 2 is constructed by selecting IA_PROPOSED, set external logic on Topic Lifecycle block to "OR", select Technology: Migration from WebLogic Server, set external logic on Technology block to "OR".

Intuitively the logic construction flows from left to right - WRITER (and/or) LIFECYCLE (and/or) TYPE (and/or) TECHNOLOGY (and/or) CONCERN.

So it seems at a glance that setting the logic block for LIFECYCLE to "or" will generate "LIFECYCLE or TECHNOLOGY", and that the "and" logic block for technology will affect anything beyond it.

Added tooltips to the advanced logic radio boxes to explain their function.

Comment 2 Joshua Wulf 2011-05-23 07:09:15 UTC
How do I see these tooltips? THey don't show up when I mouse over them in Google Chrom or Mozilla Firefox.

Fixed in 20110524-0833

The title attribute had to be put on the h:selectOneRadio element instead of the f:selectItem elements.

Comment 4 Joshua Wulf 2011-06-01 10:35:10 UTC
Verified.

Document: complex searches with boolean logic.
