Same happens to me, with the same ATI Radeon 5450 Will this be fixed on F15 final? *** Bug 707842 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Same to me with a desktop HD5450 graphic card. And the F15 final failed to fix the problem. I have the same problem with horizontal white lines/artifacts. Seems to have started after May 6th update. I have Radeon 5600 HD video card. Restarting Gnome shell via Alt+F2 and typing r can help but if I log out and then back in problem reoccurs. Just a further comment. I have noticed that restarting Gnome-shell succeeds in getting rid of screen artifacts only when I have some applications open. *** Bug 708723 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Same here. Only happens after updating, though. Any information? I would like to know if this bug could be fixed before the end of this mounth ? Hmm, I have an Sapphire Radeon HD5450, and Gigabyte MoBo with AMD X2 250 CPU and installed Fedora from x86_64 DVD + latest updates and there are no artifacts. In comment 10: "Only happens after updating, though. Any information?" Do you mean it can be solved by downgrading to some previous version? Or u are talking about updating F14 to F15? Just want to report that I no longer have any artifacts. Not sure why. I know gnome-shell was updated on the 25th. I have restarted laptop a couple of times and all seems fine now. I am having this issue too.
See my attached screenshot where the horizontal line in the upper icons is very clear visible. If i scroll up and down in gnome-shell the horizontal stays on the same position and does not go away.

Hi! I have the same problem. My video card is a Mobility Radeon HD 5650. I've noticed that if I change the Gnome Shell theme in the tweak window, the white lines disappear and everything's ok, even without restarting the shell. However, after rebooting the system, these lines appear no matter which theme I use (but they appear in different places, depending on the theme!) Everything was ok in Fedora 15 Beta, these lines first appeared when I used Fedora 15 RC3. I hope it gets fixed quickly, one of the reasons why I use Fedora is because of the really pretty Gnome 3, but it's not so pretty with these white lines :( a little update: changing the shell's theme doesn't totally fix the problem. The lines disappear from the shell, and most of the time you don't see them anywhere, but sometimes, very rarely, they appear inside some windows... This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX. Created attachment 498988 [details] Arifacts, dmesg, Xorg log Description of problem: Screen artifacts in form of small repetitable horizontal bars occur on screen in X11 gnome shell, affecting icons and application switch screen. Screen shot included, see top icons and bottom of screen. Also a random noise pattern insetad of black screen is visible before login/password popup after boot. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 15beta, BUT! Official Fedora ISO DVD of 15 BETA published in April - no issue Updated to current version of all packages on 13th May 2011 - issue visible How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install Fedora 15 beta from ISO dvd. Install all recent updates with Yum update and reboot system. Actual results: Artifacts visible Expected results: No artifacts Additional info: I use Dell Lattitued Laptop, i3, 4gb ram, ATI HD 5450, reporting as CEDAR I enclose dmesg, xorg.logs and screenshot. Happy to provide further information if neccesary.
