Description Jaroslav Reznik 2011-05-17 10:41:21 UTC
Description of problem: Bluedevil upstream ships desktop files with virtual/bluedevil-* mime types (included in shared-mime-info) but desktop-file-validate does not know about virtual media type. Please add virtual media type to desktop-file-utils. Thanks.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.18

Steps to Reproduce:
1. desktop-file-validate /usr/share/applications/kde4/bluedevil-input.desktop

Actual results:
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/kde4/bluedevil-sendfile.desktop":
"virtual/bluedevil-sendfile" is an invalid MIME type ("virtual" is an
unregistered media type)

Expected results:
No error.

Well, the shared-mime-info database has no such type in it. There's no major type of 'virtual', the bluedevil developers have just made it up. They need to register it upstream. Preferably, using x- for the major type, if an existing major type can't be made to fit.
