Description Sjoerd Mullender 2011-05-18 16:18:50 UTC
Description of problem:
It looks like bug 690401 has come back: when I try to read email (remotely from thunderbird, the imap component of dovecot crashes. The log file has this:

May 18 18:02:08 <hostname> dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=<username>, method=PLAIN, rip=192.168.0.3, lip=192.168.0.2, mpid=12969, TLS
May 18 18:02:08 <hostname> dovecot: master: Error: service(imap): child 12969 killed with signal 11 (core dumped)

(anonymized to protect the innocent)

My configuration is still the same as in bug 690401.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
dovecot-2.0.12-2.fc14.i686

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.connect to server using an imap client.
2.
3.

Actual results:
thunderbird claims host has disconnected, /var/log/maillog on the server gets an entry about a crash.

Expected results:
being able to read email.

Additional info:
Since I'm off on vacation tomorrow I have no time to investigate this.
I downgraded to dovecot-2.0.11-2.fc14.i686 and at least I can read my email again. (I got the rpm from koji per the instructions in the referenced bug.)

Comment 1 Michal Hlavinka 2011-05-23 10:36:34 UTC
Please retest with dovecot 2.0.13 (currently in updates-testing -> yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing doovecot ) and if you are still able to reproduce this, attach backtrace of that crash (abrt should be able to get it). Thanks

Comment 2 Sjoerd Mullender 2011-05-24 20:07:30 UTC
It looks like that one works.
