Description Mario Blättermann 2011-05-21 19:03:56 UTC
Hi,
I'm the co-maintainer of the glabels project. A new version of glabels is available. On May 16 the final 3.0.0 was released.

http://glabels.org/news/

Some dependencies are now deprecated, because it has migrated to the Gnome 3 platform. Moreover, the gnubarcode library is no longer shipped with glabels. I highly recommend to have an external barcode library present at build time (as BuildRequires). The following libraries are currently supported:

http://www.gnu.org/software/barcode/barcode.html
http://sourceforge.net/projects/zint/ (v2.4.1 or newer, once available)
http://datenfreihafen.org/projects/iec16022.html (>= 0.2.4)
http://megaui.net/fukuchi/works/qrencode/index.en.html (>= 3.1)

Moreover, the current stack is designed to be installable parallel to an existing glabels 2.2.x installation. Could be patched to make it a properly built successor for v2.2.8, or even could be provided as a new package. An unpatched installation creates a menu entry named "glabels Label Designer 3". However, If you decide to leave it untouched, it doesn't affect the functionality. Note: this ability will probably crowded once v3.2 will be released. No problem for the time being, because we don't expect to release 3.2 this year.

Just a question: May we expect to get the current version as an update for Fedora 15? As far I can see, the BuildReqs are complete, and it works as expected for me.
