Description Bruno Wolff III 2011-05-25 15:27:46 UTC
Description of problem:
I noticed that upstream has 5.2.2 which seems to be a much later release than 4.4.0. Since the spec file seems to indicate significant work was being done to keep 4.4.0 working, I expect there is a reason why Fedora has that version instead of the newer one that I am not aware of.

See http://bugzilla.redhat.com/223424#c15

One possibility though would be not to package the GUI at all and just update the base package to 5.3. The bittorrent-gui package could be obsoleted by (say) transmission. I believe this is the approach Mandriva took.

Comment 2 Paul Howarth 2011-10-20 08:15:54 UTC
The bittorrent software is dead upstream as it has gone closed source, and won't be included in Fedora 16 onwards. So there's not going to be a 5.x version in Fedora.
