Description udayb 2011-05-29 07:50:37 UTC
Description of problem:

Running /etc/init.d/polipo does not make polipo go into background (run in daemon mode). This means that the boot process would hang if polipo is enabled to start at boot time. If there is no way to run it as a daemon, it shouldn't even be put in /etc/init.d or listed as a service that can be enabled at boot. This is a really bad problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
polipo-1.0.4.1-2.fc14.i686

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. /etc/init.d/polipo

Actual results:
Runs in foreground

Expected results:
Daemon

Please do not replace /etc/polipo/config with config file from tor website.

Comment 2 udayb 2011-06-02 18:04:15 UTC
Can you pls then contact the writers of that FAQ or tor maintainers and suggest a fix?
