Description Peter Bieringer 2011-05-29 10:48:57 UTC
Description of problem:
While try to workaround a system hold state during reboot ("Unmounting filesystems") I found that Alt-Sysrq B for reboot is ignored, while S for sync and U for umount is still working well

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.38.6-27.fc15.i686.PAE

How reproducible:
always

Expected results:
proper working

Additional info:
P for poweroff is working

Does reboot work otherwise, in normal use with the 'reboot' command or requesting reboot in graphical mode?

Comment 2 Peter Bieringer 2011-06-26 08:57:44 UTC
Normal reboot did not proper work in some situations, because F15 has troubles unmounting all NFS drives (which it shouldn't, but I still investigate this). Therefore I tried Alt-Sysrq

Alt-Sysrq-S for FS sync works
Alt-Sysrq-U for FS in R/O mode works, too
Alt-Sysrq-H for help works also
Alt-Sysrq-B: no action, have to push the reset button :-(

This must be a scan code issue, I found that

while

Alt Gr (right side from "SPACE") + B is not working (but others like S, U, H)

the following

Alt (left side from "SPACE") + B works
