Steps to reproduce 1. launch jpilot 2. click Sync button Actual results: abrt reports a crash, jpilot UI stays up and functional but I can not seem to get it to sync Expected results: sync of my Palm, just like it does on the F15 x86_64 box at home ah, previous comment is not 100% true, I also need to have the Palm connected to the box for the crash to be reported. Unsure how to debug this further found it, I had jpilot and pilot-link-libs isnatlled. But NOT pilot-link. Installing the latter seemingly resolves the issue. Hello, at first the backtrace is not complete, ( Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0 0x00000034e2002df3 in usb_control_msg (dev=0x0, bmRequestType=<optimized out>, bRequest=<optimized out>, wValue=<optimized out>, wIndex=<optimized out>, bytes=0x7fffa16c1990 "\240\260.\002", size=20, timeout=0) at core.c:845 845 core.c: No such file or directory. in core.c ) this have to be investigated and solved at the beginning. I'm not sure whether this is not abrt problem, thus I'm adding to cc denys, he will look at the issue. This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component. if you want, you can close this, all Fedora boxes where I use jpilot have been updated to 16. I can open a new bug next time jpilot segfaults under 16 Package: jpilot-1.8.1-2.fc16 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 16 (Verne) Comment ----- like bug 709098 but under F16 jpilot will sometimes segfault but for the life of me I can not determine how to make it segfault in a reproducible maner Ah, good, ABRT deems both the same bug. Adjusted release to F16. Will attach the backtrace Created attachment 536260 [details]

attempted to sync. this bug also happened on F16, it's not easily reproducible, but sometimes jpilot segfaults when trying to sync. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: jpilot-1.8.1-3.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Created attachment 588961 [details]

Hmm, scratch comment 15, this is sth different so far pilot-xfer --port usb: --list only works as root on a fresh install, I'll have to dig where to set the permissions, it's been a while since I last had to do that. the permissions issue is fixed with pilot-link-0.12.5-11.fc17.x86_64 (from RHBZ 733989) I'll update here next time jpilot fails to sync Hi Patrick, I am closing this as a dupe of bug #733989. If you see this crash again, feel free to reopen this bug. Thanks, peter *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 733989 *** |
