Description Šimon Lukašík 2011-06-01 07:33:51 UTC
Description of problem:
The point (2) in the upgrade instructions

  /etc/sysconfig/rhn/satellite-upgrade/point-release-update.txt

is not correct. The user of RHN Satellite 5.4.0 (in connected mode
with Embedded DB) is advised to do only 'yum upgrade'. The problem is
that 'yum upgrade' will not update packages in EmbeddedDB/ directory.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhn-upgrade-5.4.0.25-1.el5sat

Comment 1 Šimon Lukašík 2011-06-01 07:35:46 UTC
The snippet from thepoint-release-update.txt:

2. Package update.

If you are running your Satellite in connected mode, run as root:

    yum upgrade

and proceed with the next point.

Comment 2 Milan Zázrivec 2012-07-31 13:39:06 UTC
The issuse -- so as it is described here -- is expected.

We don't really need to update Oracle server packages for minor updates,
since this is something that's only being done for major upgrades (i.e.
also with catalog updates, etc.)

I'm closing this with not a bug.
