Description David Sommerseth 2011-06-03 15:06:53 UTC
[root@ibm-ls41-02 modprobe.d]# rpm -qf /etc/modprobe.d/ibm-amd
ibm-prtm-1.8-2.el6rt.noarch
[root@ibm-ls41-02 modprobe.d]# modprobe amd64_edac_mod
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ibm-amd, it will be ignored in a future release.

Renaming ibm-amd to ibm-amd.conf in /etc/modprobe.d solves the issue.

Verified by trying to load amd64_edac_mod with ibm-prtm-1.8-4 and ibm-prtm-1.10-1.

[root@ls21-1 ~]# modprobe -r amd64_edac_mod edac_core
[root@ls21-1 ~]# rpm -q ibm-prtm
ibm-prtm-1.8-4.el6rt.noarch
[root@ls21-1 ~]# modprobe amd64_edac_modWARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ibm-amd.config, it will be ignored in a future release.
[root@ls21-1 ~]#

(upgrade ibm-prtm to 1.10-1)

[root@ls21-1 ~]# modprobe -r amd64_edac_mod edac_core
[root@ls21-1 ~]# rpm -q ibm-prtm
ibm-prtm-1.10-1.el6rt.noarch
[root@ls21-1 ~]# modprobe amd64_edac_mod
[root@ls21-1 ~]#

-> VERIFIED
