Description of problem:  Module for C-media 8738 not found, thus sound card not working.

How reproducible:  Is a constant bug.

Actual results:  lspci -v does not list the module

Also lsmod does not list the module.


Expected results:  Module to be listed so sound card works.


Additional info:  The sound card is detected under lspci (obviously) but not found in alsamixer due to module not being found.

Installed the snd-cmipci module by installing alsa-kmdl from here http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/el6/alsa-driver-1.0.22/alsa-kmdl-2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64-1.0.22.1-82.el6.x86_64.rpm.html

For some reason this wouldn't install through yum with the ATRpm's enabled.
