Description of problem:

We have noticed that on RHEL5-64 systems only, that calls to the OS to get the PID of the currently running process sometimes returns zero instead of the actual PID, which causes havoc when that value gets written out to a file for other scripts to read in for process control.

How reproducible:
Occurs pretty often.


Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Install ZCS
2.  Start ZCS
3.  Inspect contents of zmconfigd.pid file
  
Actual results:
Sometimes the PID is zero

Expected results:
The PID of the process

This bug/component is not included in scope for RHEL-5.11.0 which is the last RHEL5 minor release. This Bugzilla will soon be CLOSED as WONTFIX (at the end of RHEL5.11 development phase (Apr 22, 2014)). We are discontinuing support for RHEL5 this month, so this is no longer an issue for us.  Thanks!
