Can you please provide info from what you are updating from, i.e. attach rpm -qa "xen*" command output. Also what packages are you updated to. As I can see from screenshot, problem is that only xen-libs are updated - xen package should be too. rpm output from the first system: xen-3.0.3-131.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-264.el5 kernel-xen-devel-2.6.18-262.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-262.el5 kernel-xen-devel-2.6.18-264.el5 xen-libs-3.0.3-131.el5 xen-libs-3.0.3-131.el5 rpm output from a second system: xen-libs-3.0.3-130.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-259.el5 xen-libs-3.0.3-130.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-264.el5 kernel-xen-devel-2.6.18-259.el5 xen-3.0.3-130.el5 kernel-xen-devel-2.6.18-264.el5 The screenshot is showing only the second attempt after updating all new packages from the snapshot 1, excluding the problem causing package. I send another more detailed screenshot showing, that the Software Update tool (Package Updater) gives no choice to avoid or handle the conflict. Ok, do you have enabled RHEL VT repository? xen and xen-libs are stored in different repositories. Yes, i think so, i'm updating from the complete snapshot 1 installation image, created from the RHEL5.7-Server-20110525.0-x86_64-DVD.iso. Oh, so it's updated from cd?? Can you check if xen package is present?? Ok, you're right (see comment #9). I added a VT reference (baseurl = http:// .. el5.7/VT) in the repository file and the snapshot 1 xen package was installed too. Thanks for your patience. Please close this bug. |
