If we delete a recipe while it's still running, it makes it difficult to cancel.

It's happened twice now that a user who is being nagged about a reservation goes to return the system, only to be told it has an active recipe.. which can no longer be viewed, because it has been deleted.

I've emailed mfranc to get some more details on how his job came to be deleted.

Assuming this was caused by an orphaned watchdog from bug 715226.
