File: backtrace
Thanks for a bug report. There are missing all debug info packages, specifically for evolution-data-server, evolution and evolution-mapi. I didn't find any similar upstream bug reports, based on the information shown in the backtrace, unfortunately. I tried to reproduce this, but no luck, messages are moved as expected, and evolution-mapi doesn't crash evolution. This is with: evolution-2.28.3-24.el6.x86_64 evolution-data-server-2.28.3-15.el6.x86_64 evolution-mapi-0.28.3-7.el6.x86_64 openchange-0.9-7.el6.x86_64 (I see I forgot to name openchange in the previous comment for another package to install debug info packages for. Please make sure you've it there too. Thanks in advance.) Nonetheless, these talloc related crashes are rather sporadic, usually hard to reproduce, and from what I saw they seem to be related to an issue caused by thread interleaving, because talloc, samba4 and openchange are not thread safe. That's only my guess from the above backtrace, which, apparently, doesn't show any thread interleaving with talloc at the time of the crash. Created attachment 505985 [details]
test patch
for evolution-mapi;
Here's a test patch for evolution-mapi. It's probably totally unrelated to this issue, but it fixes things valgrind found during my testing. I can provide a test package package with it included, if you can test it.
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an exception in the current release, please ask your support representative. This request was not resolved in time for the current release. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The patch is obsolete with the rebase to 0.32, because that version contains it already. I'm closing this, but feel free to reopen, if you will be able to reproduce with rebased packages. Development Management has reviewed and declined this request. You may appeal this decision by reopening this request. |
