Description Radek Vokál 2011-06-09 08:14:09 UTC
Description of problem:
On Lenovo s10-2 laptop with F14 worked switching off touchpad while typing in gnome-mouse-properties. This no longer works with F15, the option is checked but the touchpad is still working.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-shell-3.0.2-1.fc15.i686
control-center-3.0.1.1-5.fc15.i686

Comment 1 source.kohlerville 2011-07-04 23:48:45 UTC
I've also encountered the same problem on my Asus 901 with Fedora 15. In the "Mouse and Touchpad" Settings, I have "Disable touchpad while typing" checked, but the touchpad still works while I am typing.

gnome-shell.i686 3.0.2-4.fc15
control-center.i686 3.0.1.1-5.fc15

Comment 2 Felix Möller 2011-07-14 17:32:35 UTC
I just wanted to report the same:

fm@thinkpad:~/uni2011 $ rpm -q gnome-panel control-center xorg-x11-drv-synaptics
gnome-panel-3.0.0.1-4.fc15.i686
control-center-3.0.1.1-6.fc15.i686
xorg-x11-drv-synaptics-1.4.0.901-1.fc15.i686

Comment 3 kubrick@fgv6.net 2011-08-04 12:24:55 UTC
Same thing here on my Toshiba Satellite Pro C660 1T0

That's a bit annoying but I can still disable it from the keyboard.

CC me.

Comment 4 Benny 2011-08-05 23:49:05 UTC
Issue found on three different laptops with x86_64 architecture on Fedora 15 running gnome-shell.

Comment 5 Felix Möller 2011-09-02 23:14:44 UTC
Somehow this works for me today. I do not know which update caused this. I am running updates-testing...

Comment 6 kubrick@fgv6.net 2011-09-05 15:14:23 UTC
No it still doesn't work for me... Sorry.

Comment 7 Jesse Dhillon 2011-09-12 05:39:06 UTC
This doesn't work for me as well, on a Lenovo Thinkpad X220.

jesse@mercury:~> rpm -q gnome-shell xorg-x11-drv-synaptics control-center
gnome-shell-3.0.2-4.fc15.i686
xorg-x11-drv-synaptics-1.4.0.901-1.fc15.i686
control-center-3.0.1.1-6.fc15.i686

Are there any available workarounds?

Comment 8 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 17:44:54 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
