Description Linus Walleij 2011-06-12 17:19:46 UTC
The latest libmtp bumps the soname of the library, please
rebuils python-pymtp agains the latest version. A simple
rebuild should do it.

I've been getting the automatic emails, I just haven't had time to look into this. A rebuild may not be the real solution here, it depends on the changes done to libmtp. The last time the libmtp soname was bumped, the Debian developers had to write this patch: http://patch-tracker.debian.org/patch/series/view/pymtp/0.0.4-2/adapt-to-libmtp8.diff

PyMTP needs to be in Fedora because it's a dependency of gPodder. If you want co-maintainer access on python-libmtp, just apply in pkgdb.

That patch still applies and really just seems like some ordinary development to keep up with the .so.8 interface. The parts the patch touches haven't changed in the last release, nor have I added any new externally visible API fields you need to handle.

If the pymtp wrapper is totally dynamically linking to libmtp, I guess you could just bump the dependency...

(I'll apply for comaintainership though, could be useful.)
