Cause: Logging in sporadically causes crash in user-switch applet
Consequence: User is unable to user switch without reloading the applet
Fix: Add checks in the code to prevent mutliple queued loads of user information from stomping over each other.
Result: Applet is now more resiliant against crashes at startup.
