Description of problem:

If I change the component for a set of test cases by removing the "Component" or setting it to "-------", I will no longer filter by component.

The use case is:  I need to change the component field for a set of test cases through the Test Plan overview UI.  If I remove all "Components" from the set of testcases, I won't be able to query it using the "Component" filter anymore.  

I propose we use a * when trying to search for all Components rather than "--------" or add a "null" component when using the filter.  I lost a set of test cases today because of this.

it is not a bug. when removing the component, the bugs have no component really can't be filtered by the component.
