Description Edward Sheldrake 2011-06-15 18:20:17 UTC
Description of problem:
When you start wireshark from a terminal, you get several annoying Gtk-WARNING messages (well, it's the same message repeated).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
wireshark-1.4.7-1.fc15

How reproducible:
Always (if you aren't a member of the wireshark group)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a terminal (not as root)
2. Type "wireshark" and press return
3.

Actual results:
You see this message, usually repeated a few times, printed in the terminal:

(wireshark:23582): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to set text from markup due to error parsing markup: Error on line 2 char 105: Element 'markup' was closed, but the currently open element is 'username'

Expected results:
No messages.

Additional info:
It can be fixed by replacing "<username>" with "<username>" in wireshark-1.4.2-group-msg.patch.

Thanks for heads-up. I'll release F15 update when more bugs come or with next security update.

Comment 2 Edward Sheldrake 2011-08-10 17:55:21 UTC
Fixed in wireshark-1.4.8-1.fc15 and in 1.6.0-4.fc16 for rawhide.
