Description Andrew Engelbrecht 2011-06-18 01:58:14 UTC
Description of problem:

Except for the initial launcher window, much of the text in this game is missing. I can tell, because there will be phrases or sentences like "Lo d G me". The text for the tutorial is scant as well, making it unplayable. Some letters flash on and off. Some of the visible text in the second menu is haloed with black.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
  Version : 42.1
  Release : 5.fc15

How reproducible:
  Happens every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. launch game
2. select play from the menu.
3.

Actual results:
  missing letters

Expected results:
  all letters displaying

Additional info:
I have intel hd graphics, with a nehalem cpu.

Comment 1 Hans de Goede 2011-06-18 05:59:06 UTC
This sounds like an opengl driver (mesa) issue to me, changing component.

Comment 2 Andrew Engelbrecht 2011-06-20 01:51:04 UTC
I should also mention that I've noticed that text is missing in whole or part in the proprietary games "Osmos" and "Lugaru". So maybe it's an issue with some library in F15, and not scorched3d itself.

Comment 3 Andrew Engelbrecht 2011-07-23 21:47:01 UTC
This issue appears to be resolved in the cases of scorched3d and lugaru. however, Osmos 1.6.0.1310 is still not displaying all text, such as in the main menu.

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 14:44:10 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
