Description Stas Sergeev 2011-06-19 20:55:08 UTC
Description of problem:
Trying to enter the internet bank, java plugin locks up.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
java-1.6.0-openjdk-plugin-1.6.0.0-53.1.9.8.fc14.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open https://ibank.rosbank.ru/
2. Click "Реквизиты карты" (upper button)
3. Enter 0000000000000000 as a card number, and 01/2011 as
an expiration date (anything else will do either)
4. Click "Дальше" (right button below)

Actual results:
Lock up

Expected results:
Error about the wrong card number, or, in case of a valid
data, entering the online bank.

Additional info:
This internet bank did never work in fedora, but at least
it was possible to enter the card number; it was failing
only on a digital signature check. Now the bank cannot even
be entered into.

Can you try this with F15? The applet loads fine for me on it.

Comment 2 Stas Sergeev 2011-06-20 15:19:35 UTC
It does load, but have you tried the steps to
reproduce? I'll try on F15 eventually, but I guess
you can try the steps before me doing the F15 testing. :)
Note: even though you can use any card number, the amount
of digits must be exactly 16.

Comment 3 Deepak Bhole 2011-06-20 15:42:25 UTC
I did try all of the steps (1-4). It takes me to another page where I have to accept a couple of certificates and then I see this:
http://dbhole.fedorapeople.org/bz714517.jpg

But I don't have a valid PIN so I cannot proceed any further...

Comment 4 Stas Sergeev 2011-06-20 15:46:35 UTC
OK, thanks, I am not getting even there.
Time to install F15 then...

Comment 5 Stas Sergeev 2011-06-27 20:02:39 UTC
OK, I knew I'll regret forever for switching to
fedora-15, but yes, while everything else is trashed,
the java applet seems to work.
Time to switch to ubuntu though...

I have the same bug on Fedora 16 on the same site right now. I'm using latest available packages from stable repository.
There wasn't mentioned any browser, so may be this led to NOTABUG status and misunderstanding...
It doesn't work on Chrome, but works perfectly on Firefox.
The steps to reproduce are the same.

I think that bug should be reopened.

Comment 7 Stas Sergeev 2011-12-04 12:34:54 UTC
I haven't tried that on Fedora-16, but on 15 it still works.
Please use this link:

to clone this report and promote it to F16.

Just tried this on F16. I found no issues there either.

After recent icedtea-web update I tried again and it worked like a magic. But just after pressing F5, problem has returned. May be, you can point to some "places" like caches or preferences of java plugin, so I can try to clean it up. It also may help to find out the precise reproduce steps, since it is not that there is no bug, but that you cannot reproduce it on your side.

The problem is with the applet with the PIN2 entry field, it is on the next page after entering card number. The browser is Chrome.

Comment 10 Deepak Bhole 2012-01-03 14:38:29 UTC
The cache is located in ~/.icedtea/cache , and the other preferences are in the ~/.icedtea dir.

Can you please run the browser from commandline as:
ICEDTEAPLUGIN_DEBUG=true <browser> 2>&1 | tee plugin.log

and then attach the plugin.log and ~/.icedtea/log/* files to this bug (after making sure there is nothing confidential in those files) ?
